1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SaveEditor (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SaveEditor is a web-based tool that allows users to upload, parse, view, edit, and download game save files and other structured data files. The Service supports multiple file formats and provides tree, table, and hex view editors.

3. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the files you upload and any modifications you make to them.
You must have the legal right to access and modify any files you upload.
You agree not to use the Service for any illegal purpose, including but not limited to modifying save files to violate game terms of service in online/multiplayer contexts.
You agree not to attempt to circumvent rate limits, overload the Service, or exploit vulnerabilities.
You agree not to upload malicious files designed to exploit the parsing engine.

4. File Handling

Files are uploaded to our servers for parsing only. They are stored in ephemeral server storage and automatically deleted within 30 minutes.
We log file metadata (filename, format, size, IP address) for rate limiting and abuse prevention, but we do not read, inspect, log, or retain the actual contents of your files beyond what is necessary for parsing.
Always back up your original save files before editing. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from edited files.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
File parsing will be 100% accurate for all formats
Edited files will function correctly in their target application
The Service will be compatible with all file formats or games

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAVEEDITOR AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GAME PROGRESS, CORRUPTED SAVE FILES, OR ACCOUNT BANS RESULTING FROM THE USE OF EDITED FILES.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

7. Free and Pro Tiers

Free Tier: Limited to 10 file uploads per day with increasing cooldowns between uploads. Advertisements may be displayed.
Pro Tier: Available via paid subscription. Includes unlimited uploads, no advertisements, and additional features as described on the pricing page.
We reserve the right to change pricing, features, and limits at any time with reasonable notice.
Pro subscriptions are managed through Stripe. Cancellation and refund policies follow Stripe's terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The SaveEditor application, its code, design, and branding are the property of SaveEditor. You retain full ownership of any files you upload and any modifications you make. We claim no rights to your data.

9. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

Violate any applicable law or regulation
Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
Distribute malware or malicious content
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.
