About RimWorld Saves

RimWorld stores saves as human-readable XML files (.rws) in the LocalLow folder. These files contain your entire colony state — colonist skills, health, resources, research progress, faction relations, and world map data. Since the format is XML, our editor provides complete tree navigation for precise editing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are RimWorld saves?

%AppData%/../LocalLow/Ludeon Studios/RimWorld/Saves/ — saves are .rws XML files.

Can I edit colonist skills?

Yes! RimWorld saves are XML, so you can navigate to each colonist's skill entries and change their level and passion settings.

Can I heal colonist injuries?

Injuries and health conditions are stored as XML nodes on each colonist. You can remove injury entries or modify their severity.

Will mods affect compatibility?

Modded saves include additional XML data from mods. Our editor can still parse and edit the XML — just be careful not to remove mod-specific entries.
